Description: Brass hilt with down-turned shell guard, decorated with grotesque mask and foliage. Knucklebow with central foliate decoration, grotesque mask on quillon block and rear quillon with acanthus finial. Brass pommel cap with button, decorated with grotesque masks and hounds in relief. Tapered grip with original rayskin wrap. Straight single- edged 23 1/4" blade (scattered light pitting) with broad shallow fuller and long narrow fuller at back edge, the last 7" double-edged. Forte with engraved panel featuring hounds chasing boars on obverse and hounds chasing stags on the reverse. Overall length 28 1/4".
