Description:
This beautiful 5'x3' partner's desk was recently hand-crafted in England using the same techniques that were employed by master craftsmen of the Victorian and Georgian periods. The wood is a beautiful, hand-distressed burl walnut highlighted by walnut crossbanding around the drawers. The top of this desk is paneled with a writing surface of fine, brown leather, bordered with a pattern of gold tooling. The leather makes an excellent writing surface, much better than wood, glass, or metal. The hardware on this desk is elegant solid brass with the drawer pulls being swan neck style. Being a partner's desk, there are two sides, each having one pedestal with a small drawer and a file drawer, and another pedestal with a small drawer and a cabinet. The pedestals are reversible so you can have the drawer configuration to your liking. Also, one side has a keyboard drawer, which I have included a picture of below, while the other side has a traditional central desk drawer. Each of the drawers boasts hand-cut dovetailed drawer joints, which show the level of detail and care that went into this desk's production. Also, every drawer and cabinet has a working lock, and the piece comes with several keys. The pedestals sit on very sturdy ogee bracket feet so you'll never have to worry and it becoming shaky or wobbly. Overall, the condition of this desk is excellent, as it is brand new. The burl walnut, crossbanding, and brown leather go together very well, resulting in a very sophisticated and professional look. This is an excellent piece and is priced to sell quickly, so good luck and happy bidding!
