Description: Georgian Garnet Cannetille Earrings Circa. 1800 British This wonderful pair of earrings are in excellent original condition. The cannetille work is extraordinary. Cannetille denotes a style in jewelry, predominant in early 19th Century, wherein a single gold wire is coiled to create a gold filigree. 15K gold tested with 15K acid. Garnets tested with refractive index liquid. 4 oval Pyrope Garnets and 8 half pearls compliment the gold work. Each earring measures 1 1/4 inches long, with wire 1 inch long without wire. Closed back settings. The cannetille work could be the best that we have ever seen. This pair is a treasure! 4.2 gr. 2.7 dwt
