Description: This is a gorgeous hand painted Gone With The Wind Hurricane Lamp MADE FOR KEROSENE BUT CONVERTED. DONE ON A TEAL GREEN BACKGROUND. The Hand Painted Flowers are raised emblossing and and are vibrant varying Pinks and Rose colored Hibiscus WITH yellow centers and highlighted in a creamy off white. The hand painting on this lamp is beautifully done. This is a large early c. 1900's kerosene lamp that has been converted to electric. Made before 1920. It could easily be converted back with only the switch hole having been drilled in the metal base to electrify it. All of the other pieces appear to be in tact under the added electrical light socket (other than the wick). It has the original brass turn knob to turn the wick up and down with. It is marked CLIMAX Patent Pending MADE IN USA. The current electrical switch lights both top and bottom globes with the lower globe being more a night lamp. Right now it has a two prong cord on it. It measures 21” tall and is approximately 11 ½” in diameter at the widest point. This GWTW parlor lamp is in excellent vintage condition with no visible chips, or cracks. It just has a little roughness around the base of the shade where it fits into the shade ring, this is common with these old vintage pieces. They were ground off. Truly an beautiful lamp that will give you many more years of pleasure. I cannot COMBINE SHIPPING on this lamp. I will have to ship this lamp in two boxes to protect it. I want to wrap it real well in bubble wrap, double box it and put peanuts in the box too. It is very delicate glass. This makes it a oversize box. I will adjust cost when I get your zip code to reflect actual shipping if it is less than I quoted. I do not inflate my shipping cost.
