Description:
Three books and 2 plates for sale as a lot. Official Program of the George Washington Bicentennial Celebration, 1932. Patriotic Pageant and Washington Bicentennial Costume Ball. State Armory, Albany, New York, February 22, 1932. Six episodes, from the courtship of Martha Custis to the first inaugural ball. Episode 6, the present may dance, page is damaged. A new page was glued into the book, with revisions. The bottom is ripped some, from someone trying to see what was underneath. All three books handed out for this celebration are in the group, along with the plates of George and Martha Washington. These pieces are not usually ever found, all together. Which makes this a rather rare find. The books show some wear from usage over the years. The 2 plates are in very good condition, Martha has a slight imperfection in the gold band, not noticeable, unless you look real close. The plates are 6.5 inches in diameter. Martha has some crazing. Warranted 22 karat gold rim.
