Description: An unusal piece with a folding semicircular twin top enclosing a recessed well. All mounted on Queen Anne legs with pad feet.The word credence is a misnomer which came about in the 19th Cent. when these tables were used for preparing the Sacrament. The word is is also used with serving tables or buffet from which servants would taste food before being offered to guests.
