Description: George III Inlaid Mahogany Barometer, Made by Baptista Ronchetti (who worked in Manchester England from 1785-1810); wheel style, with a broken arch pediment over a roundel and a thermometer flanked with conch shells, above the barometer dial and ending with another roundel. Note: Ronchetti arrived from Tavernerio (near Lake Como) and worked in Spear Street before setting up in business at 15 High Street. His son and nephew joined him after he had established his buisness, where they were prolific producers of high-quality instruments which included stick, wheel, angle, and double barometers.
