Each of these paintings are own by the Smithsonian Institute. Below the painting it lists their Smithsonian Catalog number, the artist (George Catlin), the year, and the title of the work. To the right it reads the Smithsonian Institution Washington D.C. If you are familiar with Catlin’s work I need not describe these paintings but if you aren’t you will be in awe of his use of color, shadowing, composition and detail! The color is strong and vivid yet naturalistic. His work is inspiring! It is an impressive collection. Each measures 14” high x 11” wide. They are all in fabulous condition with a slight bump to the left hand bottom corner which wouldn’t be noticeable in the least once farmed.
