Description:
19th Century Gasolier and extremely rare fixture to come by these days. This Gasolier dates from approximately the 1850’s. It is all of patented metal in an egg plant color with gold gilt stenciling set into a bronze Dore ornate frame. The casting is superb as you can see. The fixture was originally gas but is now fitted for electricity. It has four branches, and the shade are 2 5/8” in diameter which as you must know are very rare and being that case the chandelier did not come with original shades. I had these shades hand painted to match the color on the frame. It is a beautiful egg plant, purple color. The condition is truly superb. This fixture measures 48” l and the approximate diameter is 32”. It is absolutely, positively ready to hang. The only missing elements are the gas jets which have been long gone and luckily the fixture is so ornate they will never be missed. I’m unsure of who the maker is but I strongly suspect that it Cornelius of Philadelphia. Striving For Excellence It isn’t brilliance or just getting the breaks, It is consistent attention to & honest respect for the Customer.
