Description: Offered for your consideration is this fantastic find out of my great aunts treasures. This wonderful salesman sampler book by Gartner and Bender, inc. Chicago * New York, Golden Bell Greeting Cards from 1947. The book is in a Burgundy leather bound binding with 110 pages and 324 complete greeting cards ( 281 full size cards and 41 thank you, announcement, package cards). Book measures 14.5" X 12"X 4". Gartner and Bender was and is one of the premier greeting card makers of all time. These cards have such detail, some have ribbon, feathers, raised detail, see through windows, so many details you just have to see them to get the effect. These were not cheap cards, on page 58 is one birthday card that cost $15.00 for 10 cards in 1947 that is $1.50 wholesale per card. These are quality cards. Condition is fantastic, the leather binding is tight, with only slight wear, all pages are intact, I noticed a few tiny tears on a few pages in the blue paper, The cards are in fantastic, the only flaw I see is that in 1947 they didn't know about acid free paper and glue, so the glue have stained quite a few of the cards, but the cards are perfect otherwise. This book is so great, you will spend hours looking at the cards as I have. This book weighs 10.6 pounds. I have moor photos if needed.
