Description:
English antique game table dating from the mid 19th century. The top is octagonal shaped and the base is a single pedestal. There are two slides attached to the top for holding game pieces. The top is made of burl walnut with inlay walnut and ebony. Also it includes a decorative a sunburst pattern at the peripheral. The base is shaped with 8 sides and is made of Rosewood. There is a ebonized ring just above the legs which are hand carved. The top is original to the base and the patina is lovely. The color is rich and the finish is French polished. This little gem of a game table is an upscale antique that would work very well next to a wing chair, settee, two chairs or just by itself in the right spot.
