Description: We are offering a 1 gallon stoneware brush decorated jar with its lid. As most collectors know, stoneware crockery worked for a living, and usually took a beatin'. To find a jar as relatively unscathed as this one, AND with its lid is not common. On the outter rim of the lid, there is a chip, but this happened in the making and was glazed over. The inner rim of the jar has a few minor dings, and the dark spot on the outter edge of the jar lid, (visible in the photo) is just that, a discoloration, not a chip. There is one flake on the bottom edge (shown), but from the coloring, you can tell this was done a long time ago. This sale will benefit our local Hospice.
