Description:
A boxed pair of sterling silver and vermeil egg cups and spoons in presentation box from one of the most well-known French silversmiths. Rococo in design with repousse work, the cups bear two flowers just below the script monograms. Fine details, fine gold wash….Puiforcat perfection! The monogram flows beautifully and the script allows for a wide range of interpretation. Perfect for a gift, the set comes in a presentation box with deep red velvet lining. The box is in very good condition and the clasp works well. The cups measure 2 ¾” high and are 1 5/8” wide at the top. The spoons measure 4 ¾” long. The total weight of the four pieces is approx. 108gr. The set (cups and spoons) is marked with the French Minerve 1st. Titre for .950 (used after 1838), the bigorne or counter-mark, and for Puiforcat. Circa 1900. More pictures are available; please email me. Item ID: 2090021
