Description:
Stunning French sterling silver napkin ring, Rococo in design, monogrammed in script with the letters M A. The ring also bears an inscription for the year 1911 just below the letters. The year 1911, part of The Belle Epoque or Beautiful Era. The napkin ring is fully marked for .950 sterling silver denoted by the Minerva 1st. Titre mark (the head of Minerva with the #1 to the right. The makers mark is still being research; the initials are EC with a large flower (possibly a sunflower), my first pass is Charles Coindriau (late 1800's). I believe by the maker's mark the napkin ring pre-dates the inscription and may have been produced in the late 1800's. Measurements; 1 wide, diameter 2. Weight 30gr. Condition; very good antique condition, surface scratches and dimples in accordance with age. Slightly out of round when view from either end.
