Description:
We are offering a six piece dessert or cake set made by Gien of France. The set consists of a 13' cake plate and five 8" smaller plates. The scenes on these plates dipict events of Napoleon's life. On the back of each plate is a description of the event written in French and the date. The largest one is titled "Le Sacre" 2-12-1804, Napoleon's coronation, when he took the crown from the Archbishop and crowned himself. The smaller plates are: "Arcole" 17-11-1796, "Austerlitz" 2-12-1805, "Eylau" 8-2-1807, "La Russie" 17-10-1812, and "La Meditation" 18-1-1814. All of the plates have a gold border, with the Napoleonic bee pattern. T are no chips or cracks on any plates, but t are two areas of paint flaking on the large plate (shown).
