French Faux Stone Finish, Terra Cotta Plaque with Painted Metal Stand, C. 1900 Good Antique Condition Minor Chips and Crack to Terracotta (see photos; restored upon request)– Circa 1900 This antique French painted terracotta placque is an architectural motif of a stylized acanthus leaf surrounded by beading and a scalloped border. It has been faux painted in a stone chipped finish at some point in its history. It comes with a painted metal stand in the same tones. Architectural placques were often used as ornamentation either in the interior or exterior in a variety of ways.
