Description: #646: French antique vanity table, country French Louis XV style, 18th century. Tabletop in walnut, sides and legs in cherry. The most remarkable here is how plain straight lines are balanced by soft curves everywhere, giving a subdued feel and a great sobriety. One side opens in a deep compartment, the drawer beneath it is not opening (made en trompe l'oeil). On the other side the long shallow drawer opens, in the center the top lifts and has a mirror. Details views will help you figure it out better than my words. Condition: All parts original, including the lock in working condition. Smooth wax finish provides deep shine (une patine grasse, as it is called among French antique dealers). Dimensions: 31 1/2" x 17" x H 30"
