Description:
18th century or earlier small French stand. It really is a little beauty, the sight of can really make you cry, it is that precious! Hand carved in oak, with the most perfect surface patina, so rich & The construction is square pegs & the little stand has quite a bit of worming, It has an early iron latch on the front & the early lock plate is still in the door but the lock catch is no longer there of course .I hope you can see the shapely skirt on the front & sides of the chest, so much style. On the back of the stand is the remnants of a paper label that reads PARIS & very interesting , on the side of the chest there are the initials of JB ,most likely it is the initials of the maker. This stand is very sturdy, has nice cupboard space inside, no drawer & lovely little turned up French feet. It measures 26” h x 18” w x 15 ¾”d.
