Description: French sculpture entitled "Love Confiding in Friendship" Bronze with dark brown patina, inscribed CARRIER. A. E. Carrier- Belleuse (b.1824 d.1887) studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris 1840 with David D'Angers. Member of the Paris Salon and the Legion d'Honor. Exhibited in Paris from 1851-1880. Medals awarded in 1863 and 1867. Art Director in Sevres. His speciality was sculptures of medium size, especially bronze. His works are exhibited in museum collections in Lieges, Mulhouse, Luxembourg, Paris, Soissons, Tourcoing.
