Beautiful brown patina on winged cherub figure -"Eros", standing aside the columnar dore clock case. At his feet lay a sword in scabbard draped with laurel leaves. Atop the clock case rests a wreath of deeply carved roses along side a quiver full of arrows. Eros is holding an oval medallion of a female portrait, next to the portrait and on top of the quiver are two turtle doves. This beautiful clock is signed by French clock maker Samuel Marti & Cie. It is an 8-day, bell strike movement with a beautiful white porcelain face hand painted with garlands of tiny roses.
