Description: Eliab George Earthrowl, artist, Born in London, English, 1878 - 1965 19th - 20th century Etching 16 3/4" X 20 3/4" framed with a simple black frame, the engraving of tall pine trees is penciled "E G Earthrowl", in the lower right margin. Biography: Landscape painter and etcher. Born in London on 1st March 1878. Studied at Goldsmiths' College School. Exhibited at the R.A., in the provinces and abroad. Elected A.R.E. 1924. Member of the Print Makers' Society of California. Lived in Wimbledon. - from Dictionary of British Artists Working 1900-1950 by Grant M. Waters. The artist exhibited during the period 1902-1939. According to a descendant of the artist, he lived in Canada and may have died in Montreal. (4)
