Description:
Vintage/Older/Modern SIGNED "V Fontana" Italy/Italian/European Artist/Sculptor Figurine of the Western Americana/Cowboys-era Bartender/Saloon-Keeper & Wooden "The Bartender"-captioned/titled Display Base/Stand, Produced in a LIMITED EDITION OF 300 Copies, this Handpainted/Hand-Painted combination Matte & Glossy/Glazed-finish Metal Sculpture/Statue/Statuary/Figure/Figural (tin glaze-like in finish) being number/#/no 13/300 in that Edition.
Fabulously and authentically detailed, he is attired in traditional Western garb, from his Levi Jeans and Boots, to a high-neck button down shirt topped with a vest and hat. He even sports black handpainted arm bands around each shirt sleeve. Facially, he greatly resembles the works of Doll Artisans such as Roldan/Klumpe/Lenci, etc. Clutched between his long spindly fingers is a cigar/stogie/cigarillo, and in front of him on the rustic faux wooden bar top/counter is an opened bottle of liquor and metalware shot glass. Behind him, in the back-of-the-bar area on a shelf are additional liquor bottles - one can even be made out to read "Whisky" (Whiskey), and a faux hanging wall mirror. On the floor in front of the face of the bar counter area is a tray with faux broken bottles/glasses (likely the residue of an old-fashioned saloon brawl/shootout) ;~)
Signed on the front edge top painted surface "V Fontana," further attribution on the underside reads "Made by Hand in Italy 13"
Original "Certificate of Authenticity"/COA remains affixed to the back side of the Sculpture and in addition to containing the aforementioned information, also reads "Creative World Venezia, Italy New York, NY - Lee Benson, Director"
