Description:
Fraktur type folk art portrait watercolor of a man circa 1875 from a group of watercolors found in a Lancaster home in 1978 or 1979. They were acquired from the Kreider family near Lancaster, Pa., who stated they were done by a member of their family. This is a sort of miniature portrait of a man in 19th C. dress. The outline of the drawing is done in pencil. The watercolors are typically Mennonite colors. This may be a depiction of Zachary Taylor, as after Taylor died in office in 1850 he was a frequent subject of folk art portrait artists. WE GUARANTEE THIS IS BE AS REPRESENTED OR YOU MAY RETURN IT, AS IS THE CASE WITH ALL OF OUR ITEMS FOR SALE. THANKS!
