Description:
Here is a fantastic meat/well and tree platter in Ashworth's YEDO pattern. The pattern combines elements of Oriental and floral designs, with fence sections providing emphasis to the center of the platter. The border, and the rest of the center pattern area are composed of groupings of lush flowers and leaves. The flow blue color is beautiful and strong. Outlines and leaf veins are highlighted in gold, and the rim is also edged in gold. The size is 20" by
16-1/4". The white background has no crazing or discoloration. The condition is fantastic. Other than a small (1/8") bruise to the lower rim, the platter has no chips, cracks, or repairs. The gold decoration is in excellent condition, also, except for gold wear on the edge of the platter. The Ashworth mark is both printed and impressed, and dates to the period between 1862 and 1880. This platter would be a stunning addition to your collection - it has great size, great pattern, great color, and great condition. It will be the highlight of your display.
