Description: My First Reader by D. Lothrop & Co. Wonderful book of short stories, very strange compared to today, such as Baby in Trouble, to make a short story shorter, baby pulled the dolls head off and tried to put it back, but it wouldn't go so she cried till mama came and slapped her and the last line reads too bad, she would have sreamed, I think, if her ba-bys head had come off. Even though there is no date on this book, it is pre 1900, and probably around 1870 era. There is a picture with each story, there is foxing throughout the book, the cover is a little worn, but still very nice. It is put together with a center sewed string, the art work is above average, there is one page that a small newspaper clipping discolored the page. See photos for condition, very unique book. Aprox 6 x 8 inches, aprox 30 pages. Cover is coming loose, back page has a art deco design ahead of it's time with a stag in the center
