Description: An exceptional pair of lovely brass Victorian Fire Dogs. The detail and embelishments are very striking and the quality of workmanship is the nicest we have had to date! An unusually large pair of Fire Dogs that resemble andirons in appearance, yet are used as usful and decorative rests for a English fireplace tool set (see 2nd photo). The tools and dogs would have been placed on the hearth in front of the small Victorian fireplaces. (Fireplace tools sold separately - shipping quoted at time of purchase)
