First published in 1934 under the title "The Field Trial Primer". 4to., 235 pp., black and green dust jacket with white lettering and black-and-white pictorial illustration, dark brown cloth with silver lettering on spine, illustrated throughout with black-and-white photographs. Field trials are proving grounds of dog breeding and blood lines, and a test of individual excellence in natural qualities such as speed, range, bird-finding ability, trainability, and stamina. Field trials are conducted on recognized upland game birds, wild or released. This book proves valuable to the sportsman who is concerned with field trials for their on sake, and also to the average bird hunter interested in getting a good hunting dog. Dust jacket has some edge wear, with small loss at back bottom tip and some light creasing and rubbing at spine extremities, tips slightly bumped, prior owner's bookplate on front free endpaper, content extremely clean and fresh, in Very Good Plus condition.
