Description:
For Sale I have a lovely piece of Carnival Glass made by The Fenton Glass Company of Williamstown, West Virginia. The Pattern is "Ribbon Ties" and sometimes called "Comet". The Shape is the ever popular 3 in 1 Ruffled Edge Bowl. The base color of the Glass is Amethyst or Purple. The Bowl displays a very Lovely Pattern of 6 Separate Ribbons that Start at the inside Center and rises up to the 3 in 1 Edge creating its widest ruffles. It sits on a Round Collar Foot. This pattern clearly separates the 3 in 1 edge perfectly. There are also Horizontal Stippled Bands that start at the bottom and also rises up to the 3 in 1 edge.
The Iridescence is just lovely as it shows Gold's with Fuchsia on the inside Bottom that Rise up to a Platinum Iridescence. The Back of the Bowl also shows good iridescence as you can see Gold's, Fuchsia and Platinum Iridescence. This Pattern is a very unique one from Fenton and not all that commonly seen.
The Bowl is considered to be in good condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The only issues to report is some minor Pin Size Iridescence loss on 2 of the Inside Ribbons and a few places on the back side. There is also a flaw in one of the raised ribs on the back mold line. This is factory as it was made that way.
The Piece is unsigned as is the case with Early Fenton Carnival Glass. I'm sure those of you who collect Amethyst or Purple Carnival Glass will surely welcome this piece into their collection. It is amazing that this piece has survived almost 100 years. This Bowl was made Circa 1911-1920.
