Description:
This is a fantastic c1950 brass horse figurine with a clock framed by a horseshoe. The clock was made by Ingraham of Briston, CT and is an electric clock that's fully working. The horse is a well detailed figurine that is quite attractive. The base is mahogany. This fantastic figurine would be an excellent addition to any collection of unusual clocks or of horse figurines. Note that we have TWO of these Horse clocks in this week's auction. The horse figurines and the frame around the clock are identical but the clock works are different plus one has a lamp and the other doesn't. Age (ca) c1950. Please note that the other clock ... this one's companion that has a different clockworks inside, has a 1951 patent number on it but this one doesn't. Dimensions It measures 17" X 5" X 12" High to the top of the horse. Condition Good original condition. The clock is in working condition. Terrific original patina. Provenance This item is from a lovely old sprawling waterfront Victorian home on Long Island's north shore. Overlooking one of Long Island's exquisite deep water harbors, the serenity of the view from this home was only rivaled by their treasures inside ... from American and English 18th and 19th century antiques to French Country to Arts & Crafts items, this huge 12 room home had it all! The pieces from this estate are "fresh" to the market, having just come from the home of its owners for a generation or more.
