Description:
A fantastic hand made model of a Navy ship. It is a 1/24 scale model of an 'Albatross', a U. S. Navy patrol boat. This type of ship was used in the late 1930s and into the 2nd World War. The model measures 53 from bow to stern; 13 across the beam; and 25 from the bottom of the hull to the top of the mast; the lifeboat is 13 x 4. We have sold many ship models over the years but this certainly ranks as one, if not the, best. It is finely constructed of wood planks with many items of brass including portholes, rudder, smokestack, searchlight, vent, etc. We estimate construction of this piece circa late 1930's. Model has several working doors, etc. and also included is the original wood stand. I believe the ship once was battery powered in the pond boat tradition. Additionally, a prior owner had the ship appraised in 1981 and that appraisal is included. Overall, very good condition with few, if any, scratches, etc. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Either email or Saturday at .
