Description: Emperor Qianlong-1736-1795-the 4th Emperor of Qing Dynasty-In the eyes of many historians in the People's Republic of China, his reign represent not only the peak of the Qing Dynasty which ruled China from 1644 until 1911, but also the historical peak of the dynastic form of rule.

Chinese Polychrome Ceramics-The use of overglaze enamels was developed at Jingdezhen in the 15th century.

Famille- Chinese enamelled porcelain of particular periods in the 17th and 18th centuries with a specified predominant colour- famille jaune (yellow),famille noire (black) , famille rose (red) , famille verte (green).

Description: Famille Rose Box with cover- Porcelain with enamels in a form of a fan decorated with peonies and ladies. Iron-red Qianlong mark in a square engraved on the base.
