Description:
A quite wonderful recent find at an English estate sale, this exquisite lady's cane (measuring 29 3/4") with a figural English sterling silver handle in the form of a bird, I think a Swan with an exquisite decorative beak and retaining is sparking amber glass eyes. The silver is hallmarked but is rubbed but just legible for Birmingham 1893, making this a true and genuine Victorian example. Excellent condition, with minor wear commensurate with age, the silver having a few minor dings but no splits or repairs. The bottom is fitted with a worn rubber ferrule.
