Description: THIS INCREDIBLE ANTIQUE BRETON GRANDFATHER CLOCK IS HIGH END CLASSIC ELEGANCE AT ITS VERY FINEST!!!Words and pictures just can't do justice to a rare treasure like this one!We are very proud to offer you this amazing grandfather clock that dates from the fourth quarter of the 19th C. (c. 1880).We were lucky to acquire this very rare grandfather clock from a lovely private estate in France near Cannes.Most Breton pieces are carved with family stories, representations and histories- and this grandfather clock is certainly no exception.The clock is made of the finest oak and the carvings are wonderful.Even the sides of the clock are carved!!The 8 days movement,driving by two cast iron weights, is a so called French comtoise clock and is running on time.The whole clock has wonderful carvings with Breton figures and leaves.The clock strikes every half and full hour on a old bronze bell.Two minutes after the full hour the clock repeat the chime which is very unusual!The porcelain dial with Roman nummerals is signed with: " Le Rouxfils a Pontioy".The dimensions are: Height: 99 Inches, Depth: 12,5 Inches and Width: 22 Inches.
