Description: Ultra fine early 19th century French or English Regency Étagère. This is a remarkable piece as you can see. It has five graduated shelves; the overall étagère is in finely figured mahogany marquetry design. It is lavishly mounted in bronze Dore. There is so much movement in this piece it is astounding. It appears to me to be all original. It has early back boards on it, peg construction, the mirrors look in excellent condition and what I like most about this piece is that the mirrors make you look very, very skinny. As you can see the shelves are very shapely it would be a wonderful display stand especially in a narrow hallway to display your prized possessions or I could also see it in your dining room with your candelabras and linens and things like that. It would do justice to any room for any purpose. It is a great petite size being 83”h and 31 ½”w. It is actually free standing and doesn’t necessarily need to be against a wall (what I mean by that is it doesn’t need to be bolted to the wall). It is very sturdy and does not shake, does not wobble. The surface is very rich and lustrous, I have been taking very good care of it, polishing it – in fact I really do hate to part with it, it is a fabulous display stand. My best guess is circa 1st quarter of the 19th century somewhere between 1800’s and 1825. I do lean towards the earlier. Striving For Excellence - It isn’t brilliance or just getting the breaks, It is consistent attention to & honest respect for the Customer.
