Description:
Serious collectors always prize clocks manufactured by the E.N. Welch Clock Company. This beauty was made around 1884 and retains all of its original parts. The paper labels on the back of the clock are no longer there. The pressed glass EN Welch pendulum is so popular that when missing from these clocks collectors will often pay over $100 for an original. The 8-day movement is original, clean and running well, striking the hours and half-hours on a "cathedral" gong. There is a separate brass alarm mechanism with a brass bell and brass set ring on the dial. This is a nice clean parlor clock that we obtained with a collection of 14 antique clocks purchased from a well-known authority in the field.
