Description:
This is a very large, elegant and impressive silver plated water pitcher. It is deeply chased with exotic birds standing over a nest of eggs in a floral reserve on each side. The top finial is of a shell or a curled leaf with a frog inside it. The handle is of a full figured beautiful woman. The detail is exceptional intricate and fine. There is an inscription below the spout in fine script which beautifully reads 1847 Father & Mother 1872. There are two applied medallions on the bottom of the pitcher - one reads: Patented By Jas Stimpson 1854 Extended for 7 Years and the other one reads: B.J. Mayo 887 Quadruple Broad St Newark NJ. It is large, impressive and in perfect condition awesome! It measures 13 3/8 at highest x 11 at widest (including spout and handle) with a 6 Ύ base diameter.
