This is a very beautiful English Victorian Gothic Revival Sideboard. The Sideboard is made of Oak. It has a rich, Deep Oak Patina. It is in very good condition.
The Sideboard has an exquisitely carved Gallery across the back. It is embellished with Vertical Fluting which is interspersed with intricately carved Roundels. There is a Cathedral Arch at the center.
The Top of the Sideboard has a beautifully carved edge. Just below runs a spectacular Frieze which is embellished with an opulently fluted Drapery Carving.
The Sideboard consists of Two Central Drawers flanked by Two Doors.
The Two Central Drawers have a Complex Pattern of Pronounced Molding which frames them to create a Hexagonal Form. The center of these Drawers is carved with a beautifully raised Medallion with Cathedral Arches at each end. Across the raised surface is a spectacular Scrolling Strap Work Carving.
The Drawers open to reveal a Compartmentalized Silverware Drawer inside the Top Drawer. The interiors are roomy, perfect for your fine Silver Settings and Table Linens. The Drawers have intricately made Dove-tail Joints.
The Drawers are flanked by Doors. The Doors have Twin Arcaded Cathedral Arches carved at their centers. Each Arch is embellished by Fleur Des Lies. The Doors open to reveal roomy compartments perfect for storing your fine china settings.
The Apron along the bottom of the Sideboard is beautifully carved and deeply pronounced. It has a Wavy Skirt flowing across it.
The Sideboard is supported upon splendid Vase Shaped Fluted Legs with Straight Stretchers connecting them.
The piece comes with its' original hardware. This includes the intricately formed Round Knobs and Exquisite Rectangular Drop Pulls.
