Description: An English Silver-Hilted Small-Sword, With London Silver Hallmarks, Circa 1770. The sword has a plain, triangular hollow-ground, colichemarde blade, silver hilt pierced and chiselled with stands of arms, a pair of straight quillons, pierced quillon block, knuckle guard and pommel all chiselled en suite with the shell, and the grip bound with silver wire and ribband secured by an engraved collar top and bottom. The sword comes complete in its original silver mounted leather scabbard. A Similar sword can be seen in L. Southwick, The Price Guide to Antique Edged Weapons, Pg. 77 Pl. 190 âe" 191.
