The cherry has been hand-distressed, hand-finished, and hand-waxed, the result of this extensive process being a look and quality that are above and beyond those of any mass-produced or machine-built tables. The surface has also been hand-planed (also known as spokeshaven) giving this table a genuine rustic appearance. The legs of this table are hand-carved plain twist, giving the table an elegant appearance. The legs are incredibly strong and more than enough to support the weight of this hefty table and whatever you wish to put on top of it. There is a leaf at each end of this table which pulls out from underneath. The two leaves provide a combined 44 inches of length to this table, greatly increasing its overall size. This is particularly convenient because the table can be used with the leaves in on a regular basis, and they can be pulled out for larger gatherings and holidays. This table looks great and would certainly make an excellent addition to any home!
