Description:
This exquisite mahogany dining or conference table was recently bench-made in England and imported to our antique furniture store here in Atlanta, GA, USA. From the materials that compose it to the carefully honed skills that crafted it, this table exhibits the finest in quality available to the furniture-making world of today. The flame mahogany, for instance, was treated to an elaborate and painstaking finishing process, performed entirely by hand, that ended in a fine waxing and French polish. The result is that this mahogany displays an incredibly rich complexion and a striking grain, which look all the finer with the rosewood crossbanding and string ebony inlay that run about the table; the rosewood, having been treated to the same finishing process as the mahogany, also looks incredible. Using a technique that recreates what occurs over time in nearly all forms of banding, the makers of this table rendered the rosewood so that it now shows a slight crackling, such as an antique table might. The legs, too, look quite striking, with fluting that runs their entire length and which ends in solid brass feet and casters. As useful as it is beautiful, this conference table offers an incredible ten feet in length and four feet in depth. And should you wish, you may take the leaves out to have a width of 80 inches, as each leaf adds an addition 20 inches to the overall length of the table. Sturdy wooden boards run between the pedestals, providing support to the leaves, so this table is quite strong. Additionally, the leaves interlock with wooden inserts and lock in place with solid brass hardware.
