Description: This is an awesome English vintage original porcelain pie funnel or pie vent made by Nutbrown, England in the 1930s in the shape of an elephant. This cute little guy is supposed to let steam out of your pie so it doesn't bubble over during baking. It is marked Nutbrown inside. The elephant is in very good condition aside from a tiny chip on a foot, pictured. Pie birds were developed in the 1700s to release steam from a baking pie so the filling didn't boil over. SOO cute!
