Description: Persian style bright cut engraved sterling card case. The hinged lid reveals British hallmarks consisting of 5 touch marks which indicates that this piece is sterling and that it was made in Birmingham. It has a date letter for 1880 � 1881 and a maker�s mark, FM for Frederick Marson. Marson made box card cases, spectacle cases, vestas, vinaigrettes and watch cases. Frederick Marson was registered January of 1845 and shows up in the records in 1856 and 1893. The card case weighs 2.0 troy ounces.
