Description:
This regal break front partners desk is a newly handmade reproduction of a Regency period antique. Straight out of England, where it was crafted by a third-generation cabinetmaker, this desk boasts the utmost in quality. The burl walnut, for instance, was treated to an elaborate finishing process ending in a fine, hand-rubbed coat of wax. Hand-distressed surfaces contribute to the genuine antique style appearance of the desk, while traditional solid brass swan neck pulls and escutcheons contrast beautifully with the wood. Walnut crossbanding adorns the drawer fronts, while the top is inlaid with three separate panels of brown leather bordered by hand-worked gold tooling. Each drawer, except the file drawers, features hand-cut dovetails, while the central drawer on either side is a hidden keyboard drawer. In all, this desk contains six standard drawers, two file drawers, the two aforementioned keyboard drawers, and two computer cabinets, all of which lock with an accompanying set of keys. Additionally, one side contains pull-out writing slides. Sitting on a firm plinth base, all of this completely and easily disassembles into the desktop and two pedestals, which is how this lovely partners desk will ship.
