Description:
This gorgeous burl walnut bachelors chest was recently handmade in England as a Georgian period reproduction. Today, both the design and the craftsmanship remain as beautiful a combination as they were in the 19th century. The burl walnut, for instance, having been treated to an elaborate finishing process, now displays a remarkably rich complexion and a striking grain. In lovely contrast with the walnut are the solid brass swan neck pulls and, of course, the bowl star inlay of satinwood and ebony. The distressing in the walnut also helps to give this chest a truly antique appearance. Structurally, this chest is as sturdy as it is beautiful, as it is made of solid wood with walnut veneers. Each drawer features hand-cut dovetails, while the shaped bracket feet promise to keep this chest standing for decades to come. Even the brushing slide retracts and pulls out with impressive smoothness.
