Description:
This gorgeous burl walnut bachelors chest was recently handmade in England as a Georgian period reproduction. Today, both the design and the craftsmanship remain as beautiful a combination as they were in the 19th century. The burl walnut, for instance, having been treated to an elaborate finishing process, now displays a remarkably rich complexion and a striking grain. In lovely contrast with the burl walnut are the solid brass swan neck pulls and walnut crossbanding. The distressing in the walnut also helps to give this chest a truly antique appearance. Structurally, this chest is as sturdy as it is beautiful, as it is made of solid wood with walnut veneers. Each drawer features hand-cut dovetails, while the shaped bracket feet promise to keep this chest standing for decades to come. Even the brushing slide retracts and pulls out with impressive smoothness.
