**** Established in Paris in 1827 by a Mr. Rocher, the shop was taken over in 1850 by his cousin, Mr. Noury. His nephew, Georges Mauboussin joined the firm and took control in 1896.
The House of Mauboussin was present at all major international shows , in 1923, 1924, 1931, 1937, 1939 and won a Grand Prix at the 1925 Exposition des Arts Decoratifs in Paris, 1925.
The Mauboussin firm that had just opened in New York when the 1929 stock market crashed, associated with Mr. Hoeffer (who retained the name "Trabert, Hoeffer" even when Mr. Trabert passed away) from 1929 to the 1950s. opening branches with them in Atlantic City Palm Beach, Miami Beach, Chicaco and Beverly Hills, with the main boutique on 407 Park Avenue, New York.
Their "Reflection" line introduced in the early 1930s was an immediate succes.
Their very typical "retro" jewels are immediately recognizable by collectors and connaissors.
