Description:
The serial number indicates that this ladies Elgin pendant watch
was made in 1890! This was the golden age of elegance and
style. For the Victorians too much was not enough. Notice how
beautiful the case engraving is on this piece, it is still pretty
crisp and shows only minor handling wear. The gold filled case
is a womens 3/0 size that measures 35mm in diameter. The
cartouche on the front of the case is free from personalization
although the inside dust cover is engraved with the intitals
"MHB".
Elgin was the largest manufacturer of pocket watches in the
world located in Elgin, Illinois and had a wonderful reputation
for style and precision. This very nice Elgin movement has 7
jewels, has been executed in the superior of two grades
