ELGIN 23 JEWEL VERITAS 18 SIZE GRADE 214 Circa: 1901. This Elgin Railroad Approved Grade was the best Elgin produced. Featured is all solid 14k gold wheels and capped scrrew down jewel settings. Also, this example is all original to the movement, dial, and case. Clean, running and especially collectible. THIS IS A FINE COLLECTIBLE. DON'T INVEST IN THE STOCK MARKET. BUY SOMETHING PROVEN IN TIME.
DIAL: White porcelain double sunken Railroad dial with bold Arabic figures and marked "Elgin". A patch and hairline exists only at the very bottom and does not distract.
MOVEMENT: 18 size, open face, lever set, 3/4 plate nickel, all 14k rose gold applied screw down jewel capps and all 14k wheels, "23 Jewels", "VERITAS"#9,375,791. Remarkable original condition with bright bold colors. ORiginal to the case.
CASE: Keystone yellow gold filled swing out heavy case free of brassing or dings. Original heavy beveled hard rock crystal.
