Description: We are very pleased to be able to offer this absolutely gorgeous piece of glass. Because of its shallow depth, it could be called either a bowl or a dish. The hand cut pattern is gilded in the back, and meticulously painted on the top. The pedestal has a zipper pattern cut into the edges, and the base has a simple ring of hand cut gilded pattern of circles and dots. This glass is very light, like good old glass is. I have consulted with an expert who specializes in EAPG. He estimated it to have been made anywhere from 1880-1920, and thinks it looks like the work of either Sinclair or Hawkes. Another high end dealer thought because of its sightly Art Noveau look, it was probably from 1910-1920. Both concurred that this piece is exquisite. There are no chips, cracks or scratches. The ony thing I could find was some thinness to the gold paint that appears through the underside where the pedestal is attached to the bowl. The sale of this item will benefit our local Hospice. They have a booth here in our mall where they sell the nicer things that are donated to them.
