Description:
This fine mahogany chest measures 43 x 20 x 45 inches high, and is in excellent condition. The hardware seems to be original (strong imprint in the finish), and the finish is an older one - just possibly original. The dimensions of the chest are generous (lots of good storage) but the fine design and good proportions give it an almost delicate look. It stands high on turned feet, and has none of the “clunky-ness” of some chests of the period. Demerits: the finish is early, and not perfect, but is probably quite satisfactory for most users of antique furniture. Originally, there was a decorative back splash, but it disappeared decades ago. Altogether this is a sound, attractive, useful piece of furniture, at a low, recession price. If you are in the Florida - Georgia area, there is a good possibility of delivery either free, or at a reduced rate, as we travel in that area frequently. Please don’t hesitate to request additional information or more detailed pictures. Both are readily available. ALSO, please don’t fail to check the other items we are offering.
